English 12 – Today we began with a discussion about graduation. I hope that having these “sharing” times helps with your decisions about your graduation celebrations. Remember, it will be awesome no matter what you decide to do 🙂
We took some review notes on response journals today. (a copy is on the handouts page) These notes will be important throughout the year.
We read Invitations, by Carol Shields, and The Road Not Taken, by Robert Frost. We discussed setting, theme, irony and the connections between these two pieces of literature. Next week we will be doing some research and writing connecting these two with two additional references.
Have a great weekend!
English 12 – We finished watching The Lottery today. Your Quick Write question is:
Is the film version of The Lottery a good representation of the written story?
This was to be a minimum of one page in length and handed in this period.
We then worked on our literary terms. You should have at least half of the terms list finished at this point. If not, you should be working on these at home.
Next class we will be reading Invitations by Carol Shields.
